Eating food can discolor urine are berries, beets, fava beans or taking certain medications makes it more likely that you will have harmless changes in the color of urine. Many over-the-counter and prescription medications give urine more vivid color tone like raspberrt red, lemon-yellow and orange.
Urine color gets from a pigment called urochrome. That color varies normally from pale yellow to deep amber, depending on concentration of the urine. Urine can turn a rainbow of colors and an unusual hue does not necessarily cause for any alarm but it can be also a sign of urinary tract infection.

In some cases, orange urine can indicate a problem with the liver or bile duct especially if you have light-colored stools. Orange urine may also be caused by dehyration which can concentrate your urine and make it much deeper in color.
Toxins
Chronic lead or mercury poisoning can also cause urine to turn red.
Dyes
Some brightly colored food dyes can cause green urine. some Dyes are also used in some test of kidneys and bladder function can turn urine blue. Amitriptyline, Indomethacin (Indocin) and Propofol (Diprivan) causes urine to be green.
